SUMMARY:

The Controls Engineer is responsible for implementing operations and capital improvement activities related to plant and equipment. This position leads process control and instrumentation upgrades and modifications, ensuring a high level of manufacturing effectiveness.

Specifically, a high level of proficiency in Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/Compactlogix/SLC 500/PLC 5, PLCs, Kinetix Servo systems, FactorytalkView SE/ME applications, configuring and setting up Powerflex DC/AC VFDs, DeviceNet and ControlNet, Ethernet communications.
  • Support the planning, prioritizing, and reviewing the technical plans for engineering/maintenance of the production and facility equipment including the preparation of project plans, schedules, budgets and proposals.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the Rockwell Systems – SCADA, MES, PLCs, VFDs and Servos, IO and Safety Devices.
  • Be proficient in Software Development - PLC programming, IO Configuration, SCADA/HMI programming and computer communication systems and network protocols – Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet.
  • Prepare system integration plans, system specification, system architecture drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, equipment tag list, configurations, HMI screens, and a bill of materials.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing services; identifying resource needs; reviewing needs,  allocating resources accordingly, and effectively communicating action plans/repairs.
  • Participate in the development of control policies and procedures and making recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.

Candidate must have basic to intermediate level of Maintenance and Millwright skills and knowledge.

  • Understand and implement preventive maintenance requirements
  • Have detailed knowledge of how to install, remove, and change various rolls used on the paper machines
  • Have detailed knowledge of the installation and removal of bearings on various pieces of equipment
  • Have knowledge of pump and motor alignment, utilizing laser equipment
  • Have ability to rebuild a variety of pump designs
  • Have troubleshooting ability for all mill equipment
  • Have detailed knowledge and experience with safety in an industrial environment, including lockout tag out procedures for industrial equipment
  • Develop knowledge of spare parts locations
  • Develop working knowledge of the core cutter
  • Understand the parts, equipment, and tools needed for emergent equipment repairs
  • Become  a qualified tow motor operator
  • Be qualified/authorized to drive the Maintenance Department pickup truck
  • Be able to operate and have a general knowledge of the Mill air compressors and associated equipment
  • Understand the operation of the Mill air conditioning & HVAC equipment
  • Have ability to safely use of oxyacetylene equipment during in an industrial environment
  • Be able to safely perform general industrial welding tasks using stick, TIG, MIG
  • Have the ability to satisfactorily use standard shop maintenance equipment during repairs such as: drill press, bearing puller, bandsaw, arbor press, circular saw, reciprocating saw, chainsaw, porta-power, hydraulic lift, welding equipment, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic hose assembly, etc.
  • Be able to determine the proper drive belt application and tension during drive belt replacements
  • Be able to determine proper coupling application for replacement
  • Have general carpentry skills
  • Have general abilities to thread pipe and install compression fittings, valves & tubing
  • Have an understanding of Teflon roll cover installation techniques and have previously participated in Teflon cover removal and installation
  • Have the ability to properly select and install the various types of doctor blades
  • Have the ability to properly repack/repair the various types of valves installed
  • Have the ability to properly adjust pump packing and repack pumps
  • Have the ability to repair fluid system leaks as well as steam leaks in dryer handhole covers, steam traps, etc.
  • Have the ability to repair Johnson Joints and dryer sight glasses
  • Have the ability to replace dryer ropes
  • Have a safe knowledge of lifting and rigging techniques
  • Have a good knowledge of measuring equipment
  • Attend professional training development courses required by the Maintenance Department supervision
  • Be able to work in a flexible team environment with minimal supervision
  • Be able to effectively communicate with peers and management.
  • Able to develop working knowledge of computerized maintenance management system.

The Director, Global Marketing is responsible for the strategy and profitable growth of the Cleanroom market segment.  The “Cleanroom Segment Leader” is expected to understand, communicate and influence market trends and to develop and execute strategies that position H&V as the market leader.  This global marketing position is delegated with leading and aligning a cross-functional team to develop, manufacture, and sell H&V solutions.  This position reports directly to the Division President, HESF.
